Kyle Chiu

Editor-In-Chief

Hi, I’m Kyle, a Year 12 student at the Manchester Grammar School (MGS). As the Editor-in-Chief of this journal, I am excited to explore the growing and ever-worsening problem of climate change, a global issue that continues to shape the political, environmental, economic, and social aspects of society. I also hope to share my passion for the agricultural and food sectors, as they undergo a rapid transformation and innovation in the face of global warming.

Alex Richards

Head of Technology and Innovation

Hello! I am Alexander Richards. I am currently a year 12 student at the Manchester Grammar School (MGS), and I serve as the Head of Technology and Innovation articles for No Knuckles. I write about the ideas and innovations shaping how we live and work, with a focus on AI and machine learning, cybersecurity, and emerging computing technologies. I am especially interested in how strong mathematical thinking powers modern tech, and I aim to make complex topics clear, practical, and engaging for a wide audience.

Anton Lui

Head of Psycology and Medicine

Hello! I’m Anton, a Year 12 student at the Canadian International School of Hong Kong (CDNIS) with a strong interest in the biological sciences and human psychology. I’m fascinated by the complexity of the human system, from the intricate processes that govern our biology to the psychological mechanisms that shape behaviour and thought. In this journal, I hope to deepen my own understanding of these fields while inspiring others to explore, question, and learn alongside me.

Fletcher Jackson

Head of History and Anthropology

I am an A-Level student at Manchester Grammar School (MGS) with a strong interest in History and how human actions affect society and culture. I am fascinated by how chains of events in the past continue to shape the modern world, from empires to the development of American civil rights. I particularly enjoy analysing historical sources, judging their reliability, and understanding how different interpretations emerge. Studying History has strengthened my critical thinking and deepened my appreciation of how the past has evolved into the present state of the world, socially, politically, and economically.

Kyle Wong

Head of Sports

Hello! I am a Year 12 student at the Chinese International School (CIS) with a strong passion for sports. I enjoy playing football as well as watching and following a wide range of sporting events, and I’m especially interested in what goes on beyond the action on the pitch. Through this journal, I hope to share my interests in sports and a greater interest in the behind-the-scenes of the sporting world, from tactics and training to management, culture, and the stories that shape modern sport.

Sammy Davey

Head of Language and Linguistics

Hi, I am a Year 12 student at Manchester Grammar School (MGS) with a strong interest in languages. As someone who studies Spanish and Russian, I am fascinated by linguistics not only as a system of structure and rules, but also as a gateway into culture, history, and thought. Through this journal, I aim to share my passion for linguistics by exploring how languages are constructed as well as how they reflect the societies, traditions, and identities of the place of origin and the people who speak them.

David Tan

Head of Religion and Philosophy

Hello! I am a Year 12 student from the Manchester Grammar School (MGS) with a strong passion for philosophy and religion, fields that invite deep reflection on some of life’s most fundamental questions. I enjoy debating complex ideas, engaging in meaningful discussions, and exploring the historical context and deeper meanings behind religious texts. Through this space, I hope to inspire others to explore these disciplines for themselves and to help build a community rooted in curiosity, clear thinking, and thoughtful engagement with faith.
